Cooks UMC JOY ministry

Cook's United Methodist Church announces a new ministry called J.O.Y. (just older adults).  This group consists of retiree aged women and men. They will meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 1-3 p.m. to play games and plan activities. Come join them for fun and fellowship. For more information call the church 449-2573.

 

American Legion Post 281

The Tyler Cates American Legion Post 281 holds their monthly meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at Rutland Place, 430 NW Rutland Road, Mt. Juliet, from 7-8 p.m. in the activity room on the third floor. We welcome all veterans and encourage you to come visit and join our Post. Farmer's Market hours

The Farmer's Market will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. with additional hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4-7 p.m.

 

 

Saturday, April 26

9 a.m. - Conservative Republicans meeting

The Wilson County Conservative Republicans will begin meeting at the offices of Tennessee Sports Medicine, 500 Crossings Blvd., Suite 101, at Providence in Mt. Juliet Saturday, April 26, at 9 a.m. Come have a bagel and coffee and learn what happened in the General Assembly this year. This will be a permanent meeting place due to the group outgrowing Logan's. For more information, call 754-4632.

 

Sunday, April 27

8:15 a.m. - First Baptist Church, Mt. Juliet

Everyone is invited to join us on Sunday, April 27 at First Baptist, Mt. Juliet. This week’s sermon is “The End of the World As We Know It” from 1 Corinthians 7:29-31. Saturday, May 3

11 a.m. - Community Day

Center Chapel Church of Christ (9500 Central Pike, Mt. Juliet) welcomes the public to Community Day from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, for a great day of free food, fun, games, inflatables, music and more – including a featured performance by recording artist/former American Idol finalist Janelle Arthur. There will be loads of activities for kids and adults, free hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and ice cream, several musical performances and even a Pickers Corner for anyone with a hankering for bluegrass and old-time country music. Rain date is May 10.

 

Saturday, May 10

Stamp Out Hunger food drive

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive will be Saturday, May 10. All donations come to the Mt. Juliet Help Center and directly benefit families in the community. Leave non-expired, non-perishable food items by your mailbox on May 10, for pick-up by the postal carrier or a Mt. Juliet Help Center volunteer.

 

Tuesday, June 24

6 p.m. - Soccer Camp

Rock of Ages Lutheran Church is hosting a soccer camp June 24-26 from 6-8 p.m. at Moss Wright Park, 745 Caldwell Dr., Goodlettsville. It is open to boys and girls ages 4-10, beginner or experienced. It is free to attend. Each child receives a soccer ball, soccer instruction, drills and games as well as snacks and drinks every day. There will be devotions and Bible studies focused on Jesus' love. - Job Seekers…

Unemployed or underemployed? Check out Job Seekers, a networking group which meets each Monday from noon to 1 p.m. in the College Hills Church Library at 1401 Leeville Pike, Lebanon. There is no charge. The meetings include job leads, guest speakers, prayer and encouragement. Anyone in our community is welcome and invited to join us. - Mobile Emission Testing…

To offer consistency and more convenience for the residents, the days of operations of the mobile emission testing site at Sgt. Jerry Mundy Park in Mt. Juliet have been changed. The Testing site will operate every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The center will close from 10:30-11 a.m. for lunch.

- Wilson County Parents as Teachers…

are hosting parent group meetings. Parent group meetings will begin meeting in Lebanon, Mt. Juliet, and Watertown on a regular basis. - West Wilson County Exchange Club…

America’s largest service club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at Rutland Place. Our dinner meeting begins at 6:15 p.m.  Our mission: “working together to make our communities a better place to live”.
