Mt. Juliet man killed in Kentucky crash

August 7, 2011 - The Kentucky State Police received a complaint of a two vehicle collision at approximately 1:13 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2011. The collision occurred seven miles west of Columbia in Adair County at the 42 mile marker on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway. The collision ocurred when an eastbound 2001 Chevy operated by 22-year-old Donnie Crosslin, Jr. of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. crossed the median and collided head-on with a westbound 2003 Freightliner tanker. The tanker was operated by 45-year-old Gina T. Hammer of Glasgow, Ken.

Crosslin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Adair County coroner while Hammer was not injured. Crosslin had a history of epileptic seizures and was prescribed several medications. An autopsy was performed at the State Medical Examiner's office on Sept. 2. The results were unknown at press time. Both operators were belted. KSP troopers were assisted at the scene by the State Highway Department, Adair County coroner, Adair County EMS, Adair County Fire and Rescue and the Adair County Sheriff's Office.
