John Wallace Lannom
Services for Mr. Lannom were held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at Sellars Funeral Home with Bros. Jim Minor and Robert Spickard officiating. Interment was in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Friday from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Lannom, 89, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. He farmed in the Gladeville community, was in the greenhouse business, Lannom’s Plant Farm, with his wife Louise, and retired from Avco (Vaught).
He was preceded in death by wife, Martha Louise Comer Lannom; son, Larry Stephen Lannom; parents, Lee Dempse and Pearl Sanders Lannom; and sisters, Marie Lannom Howard and Maggie Lee Lannom Bramwell.
Survivors include: children, Bob (Brenda) Lannom of Gallatin and Lugene (Eddie) Snipes of Tallahassee Fla.; grandchildren, Lee, Julie, Risha and Micah Lannom, Amy (Seth) Wilhite and Whitney and Taylor Snipes; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Eddie Snipes, Lee Lannom, Ralph Comer, Jeff Fennessey, James Woodall and Micah Lannom.

Georgia Runion Clifford
Services for Ms. Clifford were held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 at McKendree Village Chapel with Rev. Allen Black and Chaplain Carmen Lyle Henley officiating. Inurnment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, Ky.
Ms. Clifford, 94, of Hermitage, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009.
Survivors include: nieces, Georgiana Britzer and Denise Martin; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Hermitage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Charles “Nick” Thornhill
Services for Mr. Thornhill were held 12 noon Monday, Oct. 19 at Hermitage Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Cameron officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation was Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Thornhill, 78, of Hermitage, passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Paige Thornhill; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Thornhill.
Survivors include: wife, Elizabeth Thornhill; sons, Charles, Gary, and Michael Lee Thornhill; granddaughters, Nikki Marks, Lacie and Kaitlynn Thornhill, and Brianna Moore; grandson, Cameron Turner; great-grandson, Carson Marks; great-granddaughter, Lindsey Campochiaro; and nephew, Clyde Bright.

Maxine Panter
Graveside services for Mrs. Panter were held 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19 in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Panter, 80, of Old Hickory, passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009.
Survivors include: husband, Albert Panter; daughter, Vicky Pittman; son, Jeff Panter; four grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Hermitage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ronald Lee Gray
Services for Mr. Gray will be held at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, Ill. with burial taking place in Polo, Ill.
Mr. Gray, 76, Lebanon, died Oct. 16, 2009 at Alive Hospice in Madison. He was born March 11, 1933 in Rock Falls, Ill.
He was preceded in death by parents and one brother.
Survivors include: wife, Margo Louise Farster; children, Karen (Allen) Barnes of Lebanon, Jan (Jim) Valliere of Fairfax, Va., Cindy (Joe) Mackey of Bolivar, W.Va. and Jeff (Lisa) Gray of Manassas Va.; grandchildren, Sarah (Joshua) Moffitt, Rachael (Juan) Ramos, Christina Jackson, Ronnie Long, Keegan Leonard, Kelly Leonard, Matthew Gray, and Michelle and Jessica Stanley; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Bill (Noralee) Gray of Polo Ill.

Deborah Clay Tripp
Mrs. Tripp will be laid to rest in Jacksonville, Fla. beside her late husband. Visitation was 2-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19 at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Tripp, 72, of Nashville, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Isaac Tripp; and daughter, Josette Sands Taylor.
Survivors include: son, Earl Matthew (Anna Marie) Sands; son-in-law, Kirk Taylor; sister, Mildred Shearer; sister-in-law, Anne Nicholson; and grandchildren, Maddie Sands, Haly Taylor and Dylan Burke.

Cynthia Ann Hay
Services for Ms. Hay were held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment was in Providence Cemetery at Crockett Mills, Tenn. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ms. Hay, 48, of Nashville died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009.
Survivors include: parents, Aubrey D. and Nancy Canada Hay of Mt. Juliet; sister, Deborah (David) Ford of Marietta, Ga.; and nephews, Jared and Austin Ford.

Dillard Jackson Gannon Jr.
Services for Mr. Gannon were held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon with Bro. Terry Fessler officiating. Interment was in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 11 a.m. until the service Thursday.
Mr. Gannon, 88, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from Aerostructures.
He was preceded in death by mother, Mamie Gannon; father, Dillard J. Gannon Sr.; step-mother, Onie May Gannon; step-brother, Thomas Gannon, all of Murfreesboro.
Survivors include: daughters, Shirley (Owen) Armstrong and Darlene (John) McCulloch, both of Lebanon; sisters, Mary Sanders of Gladeville and Mattie B. Blair of Missouri; grandchildren, Dwayne Grissim, Sherry Edwards, Tonya Stone, Paula Heird, Pam Kelly, Tracy Henry, and Dusty Henry; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Lebanon Senior Citizens.

Jay Newell Jr.
Services for Mr. Newell were held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Terry Carver officiating. Interment was in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Newell, 69, of Mt. Juliet, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2009.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jasper and Hazel Newell, Sr.
Survivors include: wife, Alice Newell; five step-daughters; nieces, Janie Streukens and Susan Houk; nephew, Bill Davis; sister, June Davis; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Julio Garcia
Services for Mr. Garcia were held 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Garcia, 72, of Mt. Juliet, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2009. He was a Paso Fino horse trainer and veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include: wife of ten years, Carol Garcia; children; Lourdes Garcia, Julito Garcia and Margarita Garcia; siblings, Pepito (Daisy) Garcia, Aida (Angel) Serrano, and Delia (Quique) Cardona; five grandchildren; and special friends, Tricia Crawford and Polly Wells.

George D. “Woody” Bruce
Visitation was 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Bruce, 62, of Mt. Juliet, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2009. He was a professional musician.
He was preceded in death by parents, George Durwood and Edith Knight Bruce.
Survivors include: former wife, Lani Bruce; children, Chris Gann, George Bruce III and Brittney Watson; and brother, Warren Knight (Patricia) Bruce.
Bond Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
