IMG_9205Ava’s Splash Pad officially opened for the summer Tuesday at Charlie Daniels Park. Ava’s Splash Pad is a water playground with tunnels of water and sprayers built in memory of Avalyn Shaye Bright who died at age 2 in 2010 from complications after a tonsillectomy. Her family created the Avalyn Shaye Foundation, which has raised more than $80,000 for the splash pad that carries her name. The splash pad is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sundays from 2-4 p.m.
